Drew Hargrove | Can't See Color
For most of my life, the world looked different to me.
I just didn’t know it. Blues and purples felt the same.
Oranges and greens were muted. Nothing ever looked as bright or vibrant as people described. What did stand out was white, black, and gray. They were clear. They made sense. They never let me down.
At 20, I found out I was colorblind. By then, I had already started a print company in high school and spent years building it without realizing I was seeing the world differently than most people.
The irony isn’t lost on me. A colorblind guy building a business in the color industry.
For over 20 years, I’ve helped brands tell their stories. I’ve worked with clothing lines, businesses, and products of every kind. We’ve printed close to a million shirts along the way. I poured my creativity into other people’s visions and never stopped to tell my own.
WHTBLKGRY is that story.
It’s my life, my family, and a reminder that seeing things differently isn’t a disadvantage. Some of my family is colorblind too. We don’t see the world the same way everyone else does, and that’s okay.
Not seeing things the same doesn’t mean we can’t build something together. It doesn’t mean we can’t respect each other.
It doesn’t mean we can’t succeed.
We all see differently. And clarity comes from learning to live with that.
That’s WHTBLKGRY.
